Wesley Spectrum Services Recognized as Finalist for Award of Excellence

Wesley Spectrum Services was recognized as one of the three finalists for the Alfred W. Wishart Jr. Award presented by The Forbes Funds.  The award is made annually to a non profit human service or community development organization that has demonstrated a sustained commitment to excellence in management and governance.

The award-winning organization must show a commitment to outstanding management in the following areas: demonstrated leadership among the staff and board of directors; use of information and objective analysis in planning and programming; commitment to excellence in human resource management; continuous improvement of service delivery processes; measurement and monitoring of outcomes; commitment to consumer satisfaction; openness to collaborative efforts with other organizations; and accountability to the public trust.

As a top three finalist, Wesley Spectrum received a $5,000 grant and was recognized at the Nonprofit Summit held by the Grant Makers of Southwestern Pennsylvania.

Wesley Spectrum delivers services in three key areas – specialized education, mental/behavioral health and family support – to provide a sense of home and hope for children and families who are searching for a better quality of life.  Wesley Spectrum currently provides services to more than 3,000 children and 7,000 family members a year, and has fifteen different site locations in Southwestern Pennsylvania.

The Forbes Funds support capacity-building initiatives for human service and community development agencies; fund research critical to fostering responsive, innovative, and sound nonprofit management; and encourage and celebrate exemplary practices in the nonprofit sector.
