Substance abuse is not a moral choice, but a disease that affects brain functioning. This makes it particularly challenging to people who need to break free from these addictions.
Wesley Spectrum provides drug assessment, prevention, intervention, education, psychiatric therapy and drug testing, for anyone with a chemical dependency concern. We educate our clients about addiction, so they understand what to expect and how to progress in their individualized treatment plans.
Our target population includes pregnant women and injection drug users. We are also committed to adolescents living in our residential shelters. But we believe all people have strengths, and teach them to draw on their strengths to make a change, get hope and reconnect spiritually.
Drug and Alcohol Outpatient Services start at five hours per week of individual, group and family treatment. Intensive Outpatient offers up to 10 hours of services a week. For those who need more supervision, our Partial Hospitalization Program is a day treatment program, with six hours a day and 30 hours a week of treatment.

These same three levels of service intensity are available for those with co-occurring disorders, where mental illness co-exists with addiction. This is not a combination of different programs, but a fully independent program to recognize, diagnose and treat co-occurring disorders. We believe every person has value and see the possibilities for good in every client, getting at the underlying factors to treat the total problem.
These family-based mental health and substance abuse services show children, adolescents and adults how to regain strength and mental health, helping them become productive members of the community. For more information, call our East Office at 412-342-2300.
